What is it?

Wheatgrass is the young grass of the wheat plant. It is nature’s richest cocktail of chlorophyll, amino acids, enzymes, minerals, and vitamins and is very easily absorbed into the body. It is considered a 'super-nutrient'; in fact, you need only one glass to reach your daily quota of 5 to 9 servings of fruit and vegetables.

Wheatgrass contains up to 70% chlorophyll, which is an important blood alkaliser. Two ounces of wheatgrass juice has the equivalent of five pounds of raw organic vegetables!


What are the health benefits?

Daily consumption of Wheatgrass is believed to enhance the health of blood cells, muscles, bones, kidneys and liver as well as regulate blood pressure, improve circulation and metabolism, and prevent heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

In addition to flooding the body with high doses of vitamins, wheatgrass is a powerful detoxifier, helping neutralize toxins and environmental pollutants in the body.


How do I eat it?

Most people like to juice wheatgrass and even take wheatgrass shots! However, wheatgrass is also available in dried concentrate, tablet or extract form.

If juicing, drink within 30 minutes just before a meal. For general health, drink 30 ml daily. It is recommended to drink wheatgrass on an empty stomach.

Being a superfood, Wheatgrass is completely assimilated in the body in 20 minutes!  

You can use a blender to make wheatgrass juice, but be aware that some of the chlorophyll may oxidise due to the rapid movement of the blades, making it less beneficial. If you are able to, I recommend using a juicer.
